Tristan Schkraft has recently purchased several LGBTQ+ landmark cultural fixtures. And he owns Mistr, the company that discreetly provides PrEP to LGBTQ+ people nationwide via mail order. The iconic Los Angeles bar, The Abbey, is his. He bought a large chunk of the commercial space on Fire Island. He launched Tryst, a hotel chain aimed at queer travelers. The Tryst Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is closed for remodeling and will reopen soon. A new property in Puerto Vallarta opens early next month.

The second annual Rainbow in Puerto Vallarta marathon is this weekend, and organizers welcome everyone to participate, regardless of orientation or identity. LGBTQ+ and civic organizations support the event. The event has men’s, women’s, and nonbinary categories in 2k and 5k distances. Registration costs 380 pesos, or about $19 USD. Everyone gets a runner’s kit, free water, a commemorative medal, a certificate of participation, and a photo of your finish.
