Tristan Schkraft has recently purchased several LGBTQ+ landmark cultural fixtures. And he owns Mistr, the company that discreetly provides PrEP to LGBTQ+ people nationwide via mail order. The iconic Los Angeles bar, The Abbey, is his. He bought a large chunk of the commercial space on Fire Island. He launched Tryst, a hotel chain aimed at queer travelers. The Tryst Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is closed for remodeling and will reopen soon. A new property in Puerto Vallarta opens early next month.

The second annual Rainbow in Puerto Vallarta marathon is this weekend, and organizers welcome everyone to participate, regardless of orientation or identity. LGBTQ+ and civic organizations support the event. The event has men’s, women’s, and nonbinary categories in 2k and 5k distances. Registration costs 380 pesos, or about $19 USD. Everyone gets a runner’s kit, free water, a commemorative medal, a certificate of participation, and a photo of your finish.

Michael and I recently spent two weeks in Liverpool, England. While the city has seen an impressive amount of new development lately, it’s still fairly gritty. It’s very working class, and on weekends, expect to see a lot of drunk, late-night mayhem. I loved it anyway.

The National Women’s Soccer League Championship is Saturday, November 23 and organizers have announced that one of the LGBTQ+ community’s most iconic entertainers will sing the National Anthem before the game. Kansas City’s CPKC Stadium, the first stadium specifically built for a women’s sports team, will host the event. Etheridge will kick things off at 8pm.

While it might seem benign to some folks, others think it dabbles in stereotypes. They say all comedy is rooted in a kernel of truth, and Cody Woods’ set starts with an observation that lands. It does seem like there’s a ratio of gay men per female attendants on any flight.
