The Advocate Magazine

The Advocate is a bi-monthly magazine in the United States that caters to the LGBT community and is available through subscription. In addition to the print publication, The Advocate has an accompanying website. Both platforms focus on topics such as news, politics, opinions, and arts and entertainment relevant to lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender individuals. Launched in 1967, it holds the distinction of being the oldest and largest LGBT publication in the country, and it is the only one still in circulation that was established before the historic Stonewall Riots in 1969, an event widely recognized as the catalyst for the LGBT rights movement.
