A British motorcyclist has been killed in a harrowing head-on crash with a van in northern Spain. The 62-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene yesterday afternoon. The incident happened on a road running beside the A-12 motorway, about a 35-minute drive from the city of Pamplona where the famous San Fermin festival takes place every year. Got a story? MFI collapsed into administration in 2008 following the financial crash but is set to undergo a £3million 're-invention' and open in the second half of 2026. It was once one of the largest suppliers of kitchens and bedroom furniture in the country but was obtained by Victorian Plumbing in May last year.

A person has died inside a PureGym after suffering a medical incident. Staff and gym goers tried to save the person at the branch in Weston-super-Mare on Wednesday but emergency services had to be called. Despite their best efforts, the person died at the scene inside the gym. Because of the unexpected death, the 24/7 branch was forced to close for the day. A PureGym spokesperson said: 'We can confirm that very sadly a member died at PureGym Weston-Super-Mare yesterday morning.

A woman and a baby are among more than 30 people who fled after a fire at a block of flats in east London today. It happened on Collendale Road in Walthamstow, east London, with two flats on the fifth and sixth floor going up in flames. Videos on social media showed firefighters being lifted above the building covered in billowing plumes of smoke. Water towers were also used to try to help fight the fire from above.

A 15-year-old boy has died after falling unwell at school. The boy was taken to hospital from Coopers School in Chislehurst, southeast London, at 1.30pm on Tuesday, but died shortly afterwards. His death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious. Both his family and the school are being supported by specially trained officers.
