In 1927, the creators of The Moore County News moved from Guymon, Oklahoma, to launch a newspaper in a community that had seen several publications come and go over the years, each one thriving for a short time before disappearing without a trace.

The Dumas Demon and Demonettte track season has concluded, but not without celebration. On Thursday, May 1 Demons Imanol Marquez, James Coaly, Ivan Nava, Reece Waddell, Dustin Coey, and Colton Mills, along with Demonette Emily Gross competed at the UIL 4A State Meet in Austin. All participants did very well, but Gross made history. With a time of 11:02.16 in the 3200-meter she was crowned state champion, the first female individual track and field champion for Dumas.

The Sunray Bobcat and Lady Cat track teams competed at the UIL-1-2A Regional Track meet at West Texas A&M Apr. 18-19. Jayde Andujo and Kolten Simmons both broke the 200m school records and Erick Calsadillas, Adiel Talamantes, Simmons and Dominick Dominguez broke the 4x100 relay school record.The two teams will represent Sunray in multiple events at the state meet.
