Despite their living in Dallas for ages, some guests for the launch of “The Southwestern Medical District: Prehistory to the Future of Medicine“ at the Hall of State on the evening of Wednesday, February 26, learned more than they had expected. It seems that while they had overcome the traffic congestion around Fair Park due to an event at the Music Hall, they were surprised to be directed downstairs to the Margaret and Al Hill Lecture Hall/Auditorium for the presentation.

In stark contrast to the spring of 2021, when nary an in-person event was taking place, the 2025 spring season’s fundraisers went into way overdrive this week. Why today alone, there were at least three non-profits holding luncheons (Dallas CASA’s Cherish The Children, Junior League of Dallas’ Milestones Luncheon and Women’s Auxiliary of Children’s Plano Chapter’s Legacy Of Love), forcing philanthropists to make Solomon choices of where to munch and support.

With less than three weeks left for After-School All-Stars North Texas‘ Rising Stars Luncheon on Tuesday, April 29, new developments have taken place. First, there are only two tables left to attend the annual fundraiser at Brook Hollow Golf Club. Not to worry about featured speaker Troy Aikman. He’ll still be chatting it up with WFAA-TV Lead Sports Anchor Joe Trahan and Lisa Cooley will still be presented with the Champion Award.
