Williamsport, Pa. — A man accused of sexual offenses against children over two cases was denied requests to be taken off intense supervised bail. James Nathan Lakes of Coudersport walked into the Lycoming County Courthouse Tuesday morning to discuss his bail situation with Judge Ryan Gardner. The defense told Gardner that Lakes is monitored like an "animal," claiming he has not violated his conditions at any point, and pointed out he doesn’t live in the same county as his numerous victims.
Man who ripped off 9/11 Coalition charged with child pornography

Williamsport, Pa. — Michael Allen Ritter ripped off the 9/11 Coalition, which nearly costed them the 2024 Memorial Ride through Lycoming County. He was charged with two counts of child pornography this week. As part of the fraud investigation into Ritter, detectives seized his cellphone to find evidence of his crimes against the coalition. During the search, Detective Loretta Badger confirmed five images of child sex abuse material were located on the device, according to an affidavit.
DA Marino unhappy with recent bail modification in Lycoming County

Williamsport, Pa. — A Williamsport man accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old numerous times was released from custody on unsecured bail at the end of March. Ahkiem Tyshon Burrage, 22, posted $75,000 unsecured bail on March 31, the same day it was changed from monetary by President Judge Nancy Butts. On Tuesday, during a bail review hearing, District Attorney Tom Marino voiced his complaints about the decision. "The guy's a predator," Marino said.
Bail conditions changed for accused accomplice in double homicide

Williamsport, Pa. — A woman charged for allegedly helping a man dispose of a gun used in a double homicide appeared in court on Tuesday. Sandy Camille Perez of Williamsport was at the Lycoming County courthouse for a bail review. Perez was granted unsecured bail in May last year. That bail was then changed to non-monetary conditions. Troy Bennett Bailey, 57, is accused of gunning down Alisha Seese and Ronald Dailey in January of 2024.
Two cases filed against child predator in Bradford County

Canton, Pa. — A man convicted of child pornography had two more cases filed against him for the same crimes this week. Robert Lester Pillot, 50, of Canton was charged with 30 counts of child pornography after authorities searched two cellphones seized on April 10. According to police, one of phones contained a video of Pillot exposing himself to a child. Police received a tip from Instagram in November stating an account had downloaded child pornography.

Williamsport, Pa. — A man strangled his sister and slammed her head against a wall, police say. Austin Michael Rishel, 24, of Williamsport allegedly grabbed the woman by her neck on March 27 as they argued inside a home in the 900 block of Clark Street. Rishel choked the victim hard enough that it prevented her from breathing, Officer Jordan Stoltzfus said. Rishel is being charged with strangulation, simple assault, and harassment.
