For the second year, a partnership between the Montoursville Area School District and Montoursville Chamber of Commerce linked students and businesses for a storefront decorating contest. Groups of middle and high schoolers planned and executed their holiday design ideas for the contest.

Pittsburgh, Pa. — Allegiant Air Teamsters Pilots held a practice picket at Pittsburgh International Airport, a key Allegiant Air hub, on Monday following an overwhelming 97.4 percent vote by Allegiant Air Teamsters to authorize a strike if the carrier fails to reach a fair agreement, according to Teamsters Local 2118. The union voted to authorized the strike on Nov. 7. The practice picket comes in the wake of a Teamsters picket outside of Allegiant Air's corporate headquarters in Las Vegas on Nov.

Williamsport, Pa. — The Salvation Army's 6th annual Red Kettle Kickoff breakfast is the season's launch of one of the most famous fundraising drives. Most know it by the sight of a red kettle and sound of a clanging bell. This year's kickoff was bell-ringing: The event, through corporate and individual pledges, exceeded its goal of $50,000, bringing in $52,000.

Centre County, Pa. — Residents in Centre County have until the end of the week to recycle unwanted election signs. The Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority, 253 Transfer Road, Bellefonte, will accept campaign signs through Nov. 15 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Clinton County residents may bring their signs to the Wayne Township Landfill. According to a Facebook post, the Recycling Center in McElhattan is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
