    PNG’s anti-corruption commission ICAC is in serious strife as its three expatriate commissioners have fallen out against each other over allegations of abuse of office, official corruption, misappropriation and manipulation of a legal document into ICACs Regulations. This has resulted in an arrest warrant currently in play for the arrest of Independent Commission Against Corruption Commissioner Andrew Forbes, an Australian lawyer who was appointed as head of the Commission.

    AFTER six months of intensive training, both physical and theory, 225 police recruits will pass out in a parade today at 2pm at the National Center of Excellence, Bomana, Port Moresby. As it is formalities, the new Commandant Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police (training) Silva Sika will receive Commissioner of Police David Manning who will watch on as the 225 recruits march pass to signify their completion of training.

    Homebrew is becoming a social problem for family and relatives of youths in Kagua-Erave, Southern Highlands. Police and reservists attended to a home after two men fought and one killed another. According to local police, home brew has led to a rise in murders which is concerning everyone in the district. This morning, a young man was killed by his own brother in law at Rogoma village. When police arrived, the body of the young man was still where he allegedly fell after he was killed.

    THE Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) is being investigated by authorities. Today, Commissioner of Police David Manning affirmed receipt of a formal referral from the ICAC Commissioner, Mr. Andrew Forbes, on the behavior of senior ICAC officials. The referral contains accusations of financial misconduct as well as spending of public funds not authorised by an officer designated under the Public Finance (Management) Act 1995.
