A proposal to build a light industrial complex on the north side of the Tracy Hills development is on hold, with the Tracy Planning Commission voting Wednesday to delay their vote until commissioners can take a closer look at environmental issues such as traffic and air quality. The Flames burned the hosting Tracy High Bulldogs with their offense pouring in double-digit unanswered runs in the 20-0 five-inning win. Lodi improved to 13-3 (7-1 TCAL) as a result. For the ‘Dogs, it was their fifth straight defeat as they fell to 8-11 and 3-5 in the Tri-City Athletic League. Tracy is on a tough stretch after starting its league campaign with a sweep of Kimball.

Tracy Sunrise Rotary Club hosted its 32nd Annual Shrimp Dinner Saturday night at IPFES Hall on Ninth Street. The event featured dinner prepared by Vernalis Bar-B-Que and Rotary volunteers, with youth Interact Club volunteers from Kimball, Millennium, Tracy and West high schools serving about 250 guests. On Tuesday the Tracy City Council, a partner in the South San Joaquin County Fire Authority, approved a report outlining the new JPA -- made up of the SSJCFA and the cities of Lodi and Stockton -- which would oversee ambulance service.
