Help us bring Scarlet home! Scarlet is a 10-year-old Australian Shepherd with a blue merle coat, two striking blue eyes, and a black nose. She’s incredibly sweet and dearly missed. Last seen: Halloween night (10/31) in the Salmon Creek area. She left with a group of dogs, but she’s the only one who hasn’t returned. Details: Scarlet likely isn’t wearing any tags.

A tow truck driver guides the recovery of the crashed pickup today. [Photo by Stormy Whitehurst]A sad discovery was made today on Highway 169 near Notch Ko Road, south of Pecwan where a vehicle, a silver pickup truck, was found down a steep embankment with the driver tragically deceased inside. It is believed that the crash likely occurred last night, but the tragic death was only discovered this morning in the rural area. Emergency personnel at the site of the crash.

I’m always amazed by how much my life changes when the rains come. Instead of striving to keep things cool and wet, I’m suddenly working to keep them warm and dry. Animal husbandry shifts, moving from shade and water to dry bedding and shelters that keep out the rain. The overall pace of life slows down, seeds germinate more slowly, weeds grow slower and go to seed less readily.

December 3d 1940-August 23d 2024It is with the saddest news to his whole family that Billy Frank Evans SR passed away peacefully on August 23d 2024. In the comfort of his own home down in Alton CA with his amazing and beautiful daughter Tammy Evans right by his side. He was 83 years young:A life well lived is a life well remembered. Billy was born in Ferndale CA on December 3d 1940 to Chet and Leona Evans, when he was 6 years old his family relocated to the little town of Alton.
