Network Rail has announced a nine-day closure of the line between Redhill and Tonbridge as work is carried out to strengthen the railway embankment near Edenbridge. During the closure, which will take place between Saturday 16 and Monday 25 August 2025, buses will replace trains along the route. Network Rail will set out to renew 13 miles of high voltage feeder cables between Nutfield and Leigh, providing a more stable power supply to electrical systems along the section of track.

Alstom has been awarded a 135 million EUR contract by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) for the design, manufacture, supply, test and commission of 96 Metropolis metro cars for the second phase of the Chennai Metro. The project runs 119km long, with stretches of 76km and 43km elevated and underground respectively, with the line operating within three corridors and their inter-corridor sections.
