Socialist Worker

Socialist Worker

Socialist Worker is a revolutionary socialist publication created by the Socialist Workers Party, which is the largest revolutionary socialist group in Britain. Since 1968, it has been released weekly. The website features online reports, articles from the print version, and an archive of Socialist Worker stories dating back to 1999. We take pride in our history of backing the workers' movement in Britain, from its peak in the early 1970s, through the significant struggles against Margaret Thatcher's government in the 1980s, and continuing to the current strikes against austerity and David Cameron's coalition. Throughout the years, we have also championed fights against racism and advocated for the rights of women, sexual minorities, and other marginalized communities. Socialist Worker was instrumental in establishing the Anti Nazi League in 1977, which successfully challenged the fascist National Front. We maintain this commitment today by supporting Unite Against Fascism in their campaign against the British National Party and the English Defence League.
