Spotlight
Spotlight is the BBC's regional news show dedicated to the South West of England, which includes areas like Cornwall, Devon, the Isles of Scilly, southern and western Somerset, western Dorset, and the Channel Islands. A special edition of the program is also available for Channel Islands viewers. It first aired on April 20, 1961. The primary broadcast takes place on weekdays from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM, with shorter updates shown at different times. Viewers across the UK and Europe can catch the show on Sky channels 967/968 through the BBC's regional TV satellite service. Its main rivals include ITV West Country's evening news program, ITV News West Country, which covers Cornwall, Devon, the Isles of Scilly, southern and western Somerset, and western Dorset, as well as ITV Channel Television's evening show, ITV News Channel TV, for the Channel Islands.
