    Police and ambulance are responding to an incident in Palmerston North. A police spokesperson said they were called to a report someone had been injured at an address in the suburb of Westbrook. They were being given treatment by ambulance staff. Hato Hone St John has been contacted for comment.

    In the build-up to its launch (well, return) in New Zealand, Chery has revealed the price of its first model — the Tiggo 4 compact crossover. Stuff speculated a few weeks ago that the Tiggo 4 had the potential to be one of the cheapest new cars on sale in New Zealand. And whilst it hasn’t quite taken the mantle, its pricing comes rather close. As previously reported, the Tiggo 4 is being offered here in two different trims; Urban and Ultimate.

    Thieves have been caught on CCTV breaking into and stealing a car in Hobsonville Point, Auckland. The footage shows two people circling a vehicle on Squadron Drive before eventually opening the back and front door, starting the car and driving off. A police spokesperson said the vehicle was reported stolen from an address in Hobsonville Point on Thursday.

    Further cuts have been made to the proposed rates increase for Carterton. Carterton District Council is to meet on Wednesday to adopt its 2025-26 Annual Plan and with it an average rates rise of 5.4%. It was originally signalled to be a 13% rise as per the council’s Long-Term Plan, and then more recently 8.6%. Last month, councillors criticised the impact of the 8.6% rise as urban ratepayers were likely to cop twice that due to a change in how water depreciation was set to be funded.
