The Boston Pilot
The Pilot serves as the official newspaper for the Archdiocese of Boston and proudly holds the title of "America's Oldest Catholic Newspaper." It has been in uninterrupted circulation since its debut on September 5, 1829. While it is the first Catholic newspaper in the U.S., the title was initially held by The United States Catholic Miscellany from Charleston, South Carolina, which started seven years earlier in 1822 but stopped publishing in 1861.
