    The Muslim Community Association hosted its first interfaith Ramadan iftar at Patio by La Pasha. Iftar is the name of the meal eaten at sunset to break the fast during Ramadan. Friends, neighbors, and city leaders of all faiths attended the event and enjoyed each other’s company.

    For the month of April, local independent bookstores are participating in the second annual Houston Bookstore Crawl in connection with Indie Bookstore Day, Saturday, April 26th. Houston’s independent bookstore community has grown significantly in the last few years, and the Bookstore Crawl is a great way to check out some of these new stores as well as visiting longtime favorites.

    Prelude Music Foundation (PMF) is hosting “My First Orchestral Concert” at Miller Outdoor Theatre, April 8 and 9, at 11 a.m. Foundation founder Ana Treviño-Godfrey (pictured) established the organization to bring developmentally appropriate music to children in underserved areas in the community. Working together with the City of Houston through the Miller Theatre Advisory Board, this is PMF’s fourth annual free community concert.
