The Lewisville Police Department is investigating a reported shooting that left one person being transported to the hospital. LPD responded to the victim on Tuesday evening in the 100 block of South I-35E, but police believe the shooting actually occurred in or near the 1400 block of Dogwood Trail. The victim’s injuries are believed to not be life-threatening. Police did not release information about a possible suspect. “This incident appears to be isolated,” LPD said in a statement.

The Denton County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a new scam targeting local residents. “We have received reports that there are individuals falsely claiming association with the Denton County Sheriff’s Office and making fraudulent demands for payments related to purported outstanding warrants for missing jury duty,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement on Tuesday.

Early construction work has begun on the future Whataburger restaurant coming to Flower Mound. The Flower Mound Town Council approved the proposed Whataburger restaurant at 3201 Long Prairie Road back in April 2023. The $2.5 million, 3,335-square-foot restaurant will have two drive-thru lanes and will be open 24 hours a day, according to a company project filing with the state.

The suspect in the weekend’s Lake Grapevine jet ski hit-and-run that killed a teenager has been arrested, the Grapevine Police Department announced Tuesday afternoon. “Texas Game Wardens and the Grapevine Police Department have Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez Gonzalez, the suspect tied to the death of Ava Moore in custody,” the department said in a statement.
