The Irish Post
The Irish Post is the top-selling national newspaper catering to the Irish community in Great Britain. It comes out every Wednesday and can be found in stores throughout Britain, as well as in certain shops in the Republic of Ireland. The newspaper was established in February 1970 by journalist Breandán Mac Lua and businessman Tony Beatty from County Waterford, Ireland. In 2003, it was purchased by Thomas Crosbie Holdings (TCM).

TAOISEACH Micheál Martin has offered his condolences to the family of a garda who lost his life in the line of duty in Co. Dublin today. Garda Kevin Flatley, 49, died after he was struck by a motorcycle shortly before 1pm in North County Dublin while on duty with the Roads Policing Unit. He is the 90th member of An Garda Síochána to lose their life in the line of duty. In a statement, the Taoiseach said Garda Flatley's death would be felt across the country.

THE SCHOOLS of two teenagers who died after a tragic incident off the coast of Co. Donegal have paid tribute to them. Emmanuel Familola, 16, Matt Sibanda, 18, and a third teenager got into difficulty in the water at Buncrana yesterday afternoon. One boy managed to swim to shore while another was rescued from the water and taken to Letterkenny General Hospital, where he later passed away. The body of the third boy was recovered from the water between Ned's Point and Fahan last night.

TÁNAISTE Simon Harris has called for a review of the European Union's trade agreement with Israel. The EU is Israel's biggest trading partner, accounting for 28.8 per cent of its trade in goods in 2022, with EU imports from Israel worth €17.5bn. Earlier this week, Mr Harris and five other European Foreign Ministers issued a joint statement expressing their concerns over Israel's plans to expand its military operations in Gaza.

Quilter Cheviot Europe Limited (QCE), itself based in the Irish capital, see the new acquisition as a 'fantastic fit' for the company. Meanwhile, GillenMarkets founder Rory Gillen, who will join QCE as part of the acquisition, said the move was a great opportunity for his clients.

A YOUNG man has died and two others have been injured following a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Co. Waterford. The incident occurred on the L1020 Old Tramore Road at Ballycoardra, just south of Waterford City, at approximately 2.20pm on Saturday. One of the passengers, a man in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene and his body removed to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination.
