CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers has already turned his attention to the league after the club secured their place in next month's Scottish Cup Final with a 5-0 win over St Johnstone. The Hoops are chasing a third straight Scottish Cup success and will face Aberdeen at Hampden Park in the final on May 24 looking for a record 43rd win in the competition. The Saints helped delay Celtic's bid for the title with a shock 1-0 victory over the champions two weeks ago but there was no repeat today.

AN ARREST warrant has been issued by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) for an Irish national alleged to be in the country unlawfully. Michael Connors, 25, who was last seen in Brisbane, Queensland, on March 15, is being sought by authorities for alleged passport offences. He has been known to assume other identities, including the names Craig O'Neill, Michael O'Brien, John Cash, Karl George Lynch and Joseph Blyth Kennedy but could be using another name.

CLODAGH RODGERS, the Co. Down singer who represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song contest in 1977, has passed away at the age of 78. The news of her passing was shared on social media by her son, Sam Sorbie, who revealed she had been battling illness for the past three years. "Mum has lived an incredible life, full of love and happiness," he wrote. "Her fantastic career performing, traveling the world, devoting her life to her two sons and being the rock of this family.

THE FAMILY of a man who died after a car was reportedly driven at him have paid tribute to their loved one. Martin O'Donovan, 46, was taken to hospital following the incident on Stonyhurst Road, Woolton, Liverpool on Friday night but later died from his injuries. Stephen Bates, 41, of Herondale Road, Mossley Hill, Liverpool was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with murder. In a statement today, Mr O'Donovan's family paid tribute to his 'wonderfully joyous spirit'.

SONY INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT has announced plans to open an office in Dublin. The company behind the poplar PlayStation brand said it plans to hire 100 local employees in engineering and operations at its digital innovation and engineering centre. The office is being established with the support of IDA Ireland, the Irish Government's inward investment promotion agency.
