Investigators examining the sinking of tech tycoon Mike Lynch’s superyacht in Italy will publish their initial report on Thursday. The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) said it will release an interim report into the disaster off the coast of Sicily on August 19th last year. Billionaire entrepreneur Mr Lynch, 59, and his daughter Hannah, 18, were among seven people who died when the 56-metre (184ft) Bayesian sank.

Three Belgian soldiers have been injured in a “shooting incident” during a training exercise in Scotland, Belgium’s defence ministry has said. The ministry confirmed that two of the soldiers are in a stable condition, with one expected to undergo surgery in Scotland before returning to Belgium. The third was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has been discharged. About “a dozen” soldiers also suffered hearing damage as a result of the incident.
