The Malone Telegram made its debut on Saturday, December 9, 1905, under the ownership of Charles M. Redfield. Originally known as The Malone Evening Telegram, the publication adopted its current name after being acquired by the Johnson family of newspapers in 1988. In 2001, the paper underwent another transformation, shifting from an afternoon release to a morning edition.
