CLAYTON – The Salmon River boys varsity hockey team took home a tie after a high-scoring affair with Thousand Islands went undecided in overtime. Owen Bismarck got things started for the Islanders with a goal midway through the first period, but Salmon River’s Canyon Laughing quickly matched him to keep things even early. However, Thousand Islands would take a slim 2-1 lead into the locker after Cooper Solar redirected a pass from Austen Packer past Shamrock goalie Ethan Gibson late in the period.

MALONE – The Franklin Academy girls varsity basketball team secured their second win of the season and first in the Central Division with a 74-11 defeat of Salmon River on Thursday night in Malone. The Huskies jumped on the Shamrocks early, taking a 16-5 advantage after the first quarter. They blew that lead out to 28 points by halftime, and finished out the contest with strong efforts on both the offensive and defensive ends.

MALONE – The Malone boys varsity basketball team earned a tough 48-45 victory over the Heuvelton Bulldogs on Wednesday evening at Franklin Academy. The game was tightly contested, with both teams jockeying for control and multiple lead changes. The Huskies took a 17-12 lead after the first quarter through a balanced scoring effort that saw six different Malone players get a bucket.

London, Dec. 07, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The UK Government’s proposed plans for leasehold reform face a major early stumbling block as analysis shows plans to retrospectively introduce a cap on ground rents could cost the taxpayer over £31bn in compensation, according to the Residential Freehold Association. The costs, equivalent to a 1% increase in income tax for the next five years, would result from the compensation that investors will be entitled to and will seek from the Government.
