Police are reminding people that driving with an unsecured dog is dangerous for you and your pet after a man was ticketed on the Lougheed Highway in Burnaby. BC Highway Patrol said on April 9, 2025, a driver was issued a ticket for “driving while controls obstructed” because he was holding his dog behind the wheel. An Abbotsford man has been banned from driving for 90 days after being busted for impaired driving in the Fraser Valley last week. The loaded dump truck he was behind the wheel of will spent a month in the impound lot. The BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) says they were alerted about the dump truck “driving dangerously” on Hwy 1 eastbound through Chilliwack around 9:30 am on Wednesday, April 9.

Residents in and around Lillooet are once again without an emergency department. The ER at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre closed its doors at 7 pm on Saturday and is not expected to be reopened until 8 am on Monday. Patients needing emergency care during the closure are asked to go to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. While the ER is temporarily closed, all other inpatient services will continue as normal.
