    After being held to one goal in the WHL championship series opening game, the Spokane Chiefs pounced on the Medicine Hat Tigers in game two on Sunday. Spokane scored four goals in the first period, building enough of a cushion on the scoreboard to hold off the Tigers and even the series at a game apiece. With the fans still making their way to their seats, Medicine Hat found the back of the net in the opening minute to send the home crowd into a frenzy.

    Residents in and around Lillooet were once again without an emergency department overnight. The latest closure began at 7 pm on Saturday and lasted until 8 am this morning. During the closure, patients needing emergency care were asked to go to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. Saturday’s closure marked the fourth overnight closure at the Lillooet ER in the past week.

    It was an emotional scene at the Kids Physio Group clinic last weekend as children walked with the help of a robotic machine, some for the first time in their lives. “He loved it very much, and he enjoyed it,” said Arkadij Baum, whose son Zane got to try out the machine. “(He) had (the) biggest smile on his face today.” In town and visiting the physiotherapy clinic was a team from Trexo Robotics with their exoskeleton machines from Ontario.

    Someone in BC has struck gold after a lottery ticket sold in the province matched all seven needed numbers to win Friday’s Lotto Max $80 million jackpot, the largest prize in BC’s history. The Lotto Max ticket was purchased in Surrey, marking the first time someone in BC has won the jackpot since the jackpot cap was increased to $80 million last September. Previously, the largest prize ever won in BC was $70 million, which was won in September 2021.
