    Fraudulent QR codes, known as quishing scams, are most commonly found in car parks as sneaky stickers placed on parking machines, according to Action Fraud. The national fraud reporting centre has issued a warning after revealing that £3.5m was lost to reported QR code scams in 2024. According to Action Fraud reports, scam QR codes have also been found on online shopping platforms with sellers receiving dodgy QR codes via email to verify their accounts or to receive payments for sold items.

    The average cost of a flight in August, the most expensive month to fly, is now 167% more than flying in January, the cheapest month to fly.  The latest figures on short-haul airfares from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that in 2024, the difference between average off-peak and peak flight prices continues to grow. Back in 2019, the average fare in August was 99% more expensive than the cheapest month.

    Grocery inflation is back on the rise again, according to Which?'s supermarket price tracker. Our tracker shows overall grocery inflation rose by 5.2% in the year to May 2025. It's the third successive quarter supermarket grocery prices have risen. And while it's still a far cry from March 2023, when grocery inflation hit a peak of 17.2% during the cost of living crisis, some items have seen much steeper rises.
