The first three months of 2025 saw over 20 Maine restaurants close their doors for good. Saying goodbye is hard, whether it's been a recently opened place you enjoyed or a longtime staple you've had many memories in. Sadly, April is seeing a few more restaurants ending their run and adding their names to the closure list for the year. Ancho Honey via Facebook; CanvaAncho Honey in Tenants Harbor, Maine, announced on a post on Facebook on April 4 that it would be closing for good.

When it comes to living in Maine, there are few things that one must accept. Loads of traffic on Route 1 between May and September, super-cold weather for six months out of every year, an insanely long line at Red's Eats and, of course, encountering wildlife. When I lived in Boston you rarely heard about local police rescuing animals that were in distress. In New Hampshire, it is not uncommon for a police department to be all hands on deck to save a horse that is on the loose, guide a moose back to safety, or reunite a lost piglet with his mama. It's all in a day's work!It is always so wholesome to see stories about local police departments coming together to help and animal who needs it.
