The 6-foot-11 big man with a 7-7 wingspan had originally signed with NC State for the 2025 season but later decomitted from the program. He played professional basketball in France for ASVEL in the EuroLeague. ASVEL is owned by NBA Legend Tony Parker.

Roy Jr. is the son of three-time NBA All-Star Brandon Roy, who also spent his college career playing for the Huskies. A senior at Garfield High School (WA), Roy Jr. spent his high school career playing for his father, who has been the head coach at his alma mater since 2017. He is Washington’s 13th addition from this offseason and is set to fill its final remaining roster spot.
