Lawyers have finished presenting evidence in the trial of two people accused of murdering an OPP officer, with closing submissions expected to begin next week. Wednesday’s proceedings were very short, lasting about an hour because one of the accused, Brandi Stewart-Sperry, wasn’t called to testify. POTSDAM — The Potsdam Public Library board has approved its proposed budget for the coming year, and an increase in appropriations of about $27,000 is planned. The budget will be voted on by school district residents on June 18th from 12-8 p.m. in the library’s main reading room. Anyone living in the Potsdam school district is eligible to vote in the annual Potsdam Public Library vote.

POTSDAM – Several personnel appointments were recently approved by the trustees and mayor, including a permanent appointment of its DPW crew leader. The village board signed off on the appointments at its meeting April 7. Brian Barrett, who has served as the probationary Department of Public Works crew leader was appointed the permanent crew leader unanimously by the board.
