Star redshirt senior wide receiver Kaedin Robinson announced on social media Monday that he will not play the remainder of the season due to injury. “It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that I have unfortunately suffered a season ending injury, bringing an unexpected end to my college career at App State,” Robinson wrote. Robinson will not play in the final two games against James Madison and Georgia Southern.

The Mountaineers fell to the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Saturday night 34-24. This was their third loss in a row and they are now sitting at a 0-3 record in Sun Belt Conference play. After receiving the ball to start the game, App State punted before crossing midfield. Louisiana responded with a 75-yard drive and opened up the scoring with a 32-yard field goal. Neither team scored during the rest of the first quarter.

Nate Johnson came to Boone and impacted the football team immediately as a freshman. After receiving freshman All-American honors from a few publications last year, Johnson knows how special of a player he is. Johnson grew up with four brothers and two sisters in Gaffney, South Carolina. “We had each other,” said Johnson, a sophomore outside linebacker.

The COVID-19 pandemic and a visit from No. 12 Pitt to start the season derailed the beginning of the college soccer career that she dreamed of. Her next season at App State would prove to be even more difficult. Wood, a graduate student forward, started playing soccer in her hometown of Hickory when she was 5 years old. She was obsessed with the sport from the second she stepped on the pitch.

Categories: September 1, 2024 App State faced off with the East Tennessee State Buccaneers at Kidd Brewer Stadium to open their 2024 season, winning 38-10 in a solid first outing of the year. The Mountaineers’ offense came out onto the field after a quick Buccaneers punt and got off to a fast start, with senior quarterback Joey Aguilar finding senior wide receiver Christan Horn for an 83-yard touchdown on their second offensive play of the season.

App State women’s soccer faced the Charlotte 49ers on Sunday for their seventh matchup of all-time. It was the first meeting since 2019 and the first in Boone for the Mountaineers since 1998. Before kickoff, the Black and Gold celebrated senior day in the valley. Seniors Gracie Giacoletto and Skyler Walk were honored as well as graduate students Izzi Wood, Mumu Guisasola, Sarah Widderich and Stephanie Barbosa. After a back-and-forth start, the Mountaineers struck first in the 33rd minute.

He welcomes the honor as he holds himself to high expectations. He expects more records to be broken. Raised in Brevard, which is 30 minutes outside of Asheville, Robinson was catching footballs as early as he could remember. He credits his father for sparking his affinity for the sport.

On the other hand, they also have non-conference matchups with two juggernauts, Liberty and Clemson, which on paper should both result in losses. In the end, they will give up a loss in a tough environment on the road in Marshall and to the Tigers and Flames.
