One person was killed and two were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday in Lamb County. Zack Rankin, a 19-year-old from Lamar, Colorado, died at University Medical Center in Lubbock following the crash that was reported around 9:25 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 385 near Country Road 242 in Lamb County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Police are investigating after a person was found dead early Thursday evening in a central Lubbock neighborhood. Investigators responded about 5:55 p.m. Thursday to a report of a dead body in the 3400 block of 23rd Street, according to a statement from Lubbock police. Officers arrived on the scene along with EMS, who pronounced one person dead.

A portion of Interstate 27 near Tulia remains closed after a crane being hauled on a tractor-trailer crashed into an overpass, causing considerable damage Tuesday morning in Swisher County. The crash was reported about 7:25 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-27 when the arm of a crane being hauled on a tractor-trailer collided with the FM 928 overpass, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The vehicle's driver suffered minor injuries.
