    A pedestrian died early Sunday morning after being struck by an ambulance, according to the South Carolina Highway patrol. Local news has never been this personal. Free to download. A pedestrian was fatally struck on Belleville Road by a northbound vehicle; the driver fled the scene.

    Two pedestrians died in separate collisions early Sunday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway patrol. At about 459 a.m., a 2016 Ford ambulance was traveling south on US 321 when it struck a pedestrian, Sergeant Tyler Tidwell said. No occupants in the ambulance were injured. The collision occurred near Mack Road, about half a mile north of the town of North. The pedestrian was transported to MUSC Orangeburg and later succumbed to injuries sustained in the incident.

    SANTEE -- Willie James (Bobby) West, of 2014 Bonner Ave., Santee, was born July 26, 1953, to the late John and Annie Mae Gillens West. He departed this life on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 18, at Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 14152 Old Number Six Highway, Eutawville. Willie graduated from Roberts High School in 1972. He went straight in the work force. He was employed at Utica Tool Company in Orangeburg until the closing of the plant in 1994.
