Rare morning severe storms brought damaging hail to parts of Northern and Eastern Colorado. Those areas could get hit again as conditions are ripe for more storms Tuesday afternoon. A very moisture-rich atmosphere led to the development of several severe thunderstorms beginning around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Some storms brought baseball-sized hail to parts of Northern Colorado, such as Milliken. This was the first of two waves.

The heat is on again for Monday with a brief cool down mid-week Temperatures hit the 90-degree mark for the first time this year over the weekend, and several more days of 90s are on the way going into this week. Monday will continue the trend of high heat. Temperatures across the state will be well above average, with highs in the Denver metro area reaching the low to mid-90s.

Another week, another round of rain and storms that will move into Colorado. We will start the work week on a quiet note, at least for the first half of the day on Monday, before the chances of rain and storm increase in the afternoon. High temperatures on Monday afternoon will manage to climb into the low to mid-80s across the Denver metro area. Heading out into Eastern Colorado, we could see some low 90s today.

The recent trend of active, wet weather will continue Memorial Day with another afternoon threat for strong to severe storms. The Storm Prediction Center issued a Level 1 -- Marginal Risk for severe weather for the southern Denver metro area and parts of southern Colorado for Monday afternoon. The primary threats on Monday will be damaging wind gusts, 58 mph or higher, and the threat of 1-inch hail or larger.
