Under the influence of an upper-level high-pressure ridge, high temperatures on Monday will again be above normal, heading for some near record-breaking highs across the Front Range. The previous record high at DIA was 90 degrees, set back in 1962. Monday highs are forecast to climb into the upper 80s for the Denver metro area. Southern Colorado may see some highs climbing into the low 90s for this afternoon. Across the state, temperatures will be roughly 15 to 25 degrees warmer than normal.

After the wet weather in Colorado this week, sunshine and warmth are taking over as high pressure builds over the Western half of the U.S. This area of high pressure will bring well above normal temperatures and an abundance of sunshine into early next week before another storm trough advances in by Wednesday of next week. High temperatures for Friday will climb into the mid-70s across the Denver metro area.

After several hours of consistent rain, the slow-moving storm system gradually winds down across Colorado. While Wednesday will still come with snow showers and rain/storms on the plains, most of the impactful weather is clearing the state. As of Wednesday morning, more than 1 inch of rain had fallen over most of the Denver metro area, with the highest totals reported near Golden.

First Alert Weather Day: Heavy rain and snow move into the state Rain showers arrived for some in Colorado late Wednesday evening, but the heavy precipitation is now settling in across the state and will continue all afternoon. Several factors are at play in the low-pressure system bringing this precipitation, but because of its more southerly track, forecast rainfall totals have decreased slightly on Tuesday.

Over the last several days, Colorado has seen some much-needed moisture, but by Friday morning, all the rain and clouds cleared out and are setting the stage for a gorgeous weekend. High temperatures on Friday will climb to seasonal levels, reaching the mid to upper 60s across the Denver metro area. The mountains will also see abundant sunshine with highs in the 50s and 60s. After last week's more active weather pattern, a strong high-pressure system will build going into the weekend.
