    A library roof which has been hit by leak problems is set to be replaced. Surveys at Ramsbottom Library found the roof needed to be replaced after a number of leaks caused damage to the building. Bury Council says that a new roof and solar panels will ensure the Carr Street library has a "watertight and green future". Work is due to start on Monday, March 31 and will finish by June 14 depending on weather conditions.

    Kamran Khan (Image: Greater Manchester Police) A man wielded a machete in a borough street and shouted at people in passing cars during the alarming incident. On July 18 last year, two teachers at a borough school made a safeguarding report with police after a Snapchat video emerged showing a man with a machete in Parr Lane, Unsworth. The man was identified as Kamran Khan, prosecutor James Cooper told Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.

An application has been put forward to change the use of a home in multiple occupancy (HMO) terraced property in Belle Vue Terrace, just off Manchester Road, from six to eight beds. The site was turned into the HMO from a three-bed home and has six tenants living there.
