Najee recently earned a silver medal with the U.S. National Wheelchair Handball Team in Egypt, showcasing his determination and skill. “It’s been a challenge for sure getting to where I am now,” Najee Smothers said.

ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News got an exclusive look at a brand new professional tennis league. Intennse features three teams based in Atlanta, Tampa and Jacksonville. The league says it wants to deliver a faster, more interactive fan-centric experience that will reshape how tennis played and watched. “Atlanta is the launch place for Intennse because Atlanta is the tennis capital of the world,” CEO Charles Allen told Channel 2’s Alison Mastrangelo.

ATLANTA — The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) is updating its transfer rule. The change will affect student athletes who move during high school. There will now be a lot more documents needed to show that the family has actually moved. The change is an attempt to prevent students from moving to different schools just to play on a different team.

Now 11 years later, the former All-Star is working towards joining the Braves bullpen again.
