The entire burial site of the Tuam babies will be forensically sealed off and monitored around the clock, as specialist teams prepare for Ireland’s first exhumation of a mass grave next month. In an email sent Friday evening to the Tuam Babies Family Group, which includes many relatives of those buried at the site, the Director of the Intervention said his team is “still on track to begin the excavation of the site in the second half of June” — although a start date has not yet been confirmed.

Since the breaking of the ceasefire, Israel has issued 30 forced displacement orders and are pushing people into isolated areas, according to Oxfam. A new analysis by Ofxam found that ‚Äúsince breaking the ceasefire on March 18, Israel has issued over 30 forced displacement orders, covering a swathe of 68 out of 79 neighbourhoods‚ÄĚ.

Family and friends of a young girl who died from a rare form of cancer are to hold a charity bike ride to help raise funds for a palliative care unit in Kerry and Tipperary. Lily Anna Sebestova, aged 10, from Tralee passed away on November 15, 2024, after a three-year battle with cancer. Lily had donated her hand for cancer research to help others during her illness.

A Cork radio broadcaster has described the horror that unfolded before his eyes while he was in Liverpool city on Monday to witness his beloved football team celebrate their premier league victory. John Isherwood, who hosts the Saturday morning show on Red FM, was among thousands of fans who lined the city’s streets to take part in the celebrations. However, at around 6pm, a car collided with a crowd of people as the parade was in full swing. The radio host told the what he witnessed.
