The investigation into the disappearance of Michael Gaine, a Kerry farmer, last seen on March 21, has been upgraded to a homicide investigation. The 56-year-old was last seen in Kenmare town on Thursday, March 20. He bought phone credit in Centra, Kenmare, at 9.48am, and left in his bronze-coloured RAV4 registration 152 KY 366. The vehicle was found parked in his farmyard, just off the N71 at Carrig East.

The Coast Guard is currently coordinating a search for a man who fell overboard in the Irish sea. The man, who was on a UK-registered yacht, was last seen about 30 km off the coast of Dunmore East, Co Waterford. A 999 call was received last night from the yacht requesting assistance.
Body of man, 60s, found at residence in Co Donegal

An investigation has been launched following the discovery of the body of a man in Co Donegal on Sunday afternoon. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the incident on Harbour View Drive, Killybegs, at around 12.20pm. The man, aged in his 60s, was found unresponsive. He was pronounced dead a short time later. His body remains at the scene, which is currently preserved for gardaí to carry out a technical examination.

That’s according to new findings from FraudSMART, the fraud awareness initiative led by the Banking & Payments Federation (BPFI). Some 68% of SMEs have been targeted by a scam in the last 12 months. Michael Gaine, 56, was first reported missing from his home near Kenmare, Co Kerry on Friday, March 21. He was last seen in Kenmare town shortly before 10 am on Thursday, March 20. Michael, who also goes by Mike, bought phone credit in Centra, Kenmare at 9.48am. Gardaí have released a CCTV image of Michael in the shop.
