Classic cars and bikes are being urged to join up Clan Cancer Support’s 2025 Cavalcade motor rally. The Water Tour – so called because it will call in at a variety of water-themed businesses and venues across the north east – will set off after breakfast from Threaplands Garden Centre near Lhanbryde on Friday, August 22. The fire service responded to an incident early today in Birkenhill Woods on the southern fringe of Elgin. A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.30pm on Wednesday, 16 April, to reports of a fire in the open. “Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the scene and extinguished a fire affecting an area of grass and logs. Emergency services attended a Moray golf club yesterday after a man fell ill and died. The call went out to Maverston Golf Course near Urquhart at about 4.20pm on Tuesday. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a man having taken unwell on a golf course in the Garmouth Road area. "Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tickets are now available for the Annual Festival of Scots Fiddle Music which will take place in Elgin throughout the last Saturday of this month.
