    Lossiemouth United sealed promotion to the North Junior Football Premier Division with a 1-0’win at New Elgin on Tuesday night. James Johnston’s goal gave United victory at Nicol Togneri Park which ensured they will be playing in the top flight of north junior football next season. Victory in their final league game on Tuesday night put them 12 points clear of Hall Russell United in the North Region Championship, who have three games remaining in the campaign.

    A pensioner has died after a crash between a lorry and a car on a busy stretch of road. A 78-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident on the A96 near Huntly at around 11am today (Wednesday, April 23). The crash involved a black Skoda Camiq and a white Iveco box van. There were no other reported injuries. The road is still closed with diversions in place.
