WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) -- Volunteers gathered at Winona Senior High School Saturday to fight against global hunger. The Winona Rotary Club partnered with the nonprofit "Feed My Starving Children" to pack around 100,000 meals for families and children in need. Luke Coalwell, FMSC's Assistant Mobile Manufacturing Manager, said it's inspiring to see the community so eager to give back.

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- Republican Rep. Derrick Van Orden said he's committed to running for reelection during an interview with News 8 Now Wednesday. "It's a duty that I must perform," said Van Orden, who represents Wisconsin's Third Congressional District. Many political experts in the state believe Van Orden's district could be redrawn in the coming years, especially after liberals cemented their majority on the state Supreme Court Tuesday night.

LA CROSSE (WKBT) --The La Crosse Symphony Orchestra had a busy Saturday night during the performance of their Spring Pops Concert. Before the music started, this year's Conductor Wannabe contestants were introduced to the crowd. During the annual fundraiser, contestants choose a non-profit to support. Half of the money they raise goes to the charity, with the other half benefitting the symphony. The top two fundraisers will get to conduct a piece during the symphony's May 3rd concert.

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- Youth basketball teams from all over Wisconsin competed in La Crosse on both Saturday and Sunday. The La Crosse Central Basketball Association (LCBA) hosted the 5th and 7th grade Great Northwest Basketball League State Tournaments. Nearly 90 teams traveled to the area to play in the season's biggest tournament. Josh Buxton, a board member for the LCBA, said these tournaments are a great opportunity to introduce people to the Coulee Region.
