Officials with the Middlesex London Health Unit (MLHU) have confirmed one person has died, after previously declaring a Legionnaires' disease outbreak in the city. Word of the outbreak came to light last week, as the health unit was first informed about the cluster of cases on July 24. Since then, the health unit said on Friday that there have been 22 reported cases with six currently hospitalized.

London, Ont., police said an ongoing search has transitioned into a recovery effort as crews work to locate a missing child who was last seen entering the Thames River earlier this week. Emergency crews were called to Adelaide Street North and Kipps Lane at 3 p.m. on Thursday for reports that a young child had gone into the river and failed to re-surface. "The London Police Service, along with the London Fire Department, had their marine units in the water," said Const. Matthew Dawson.
