Against the shaded windows of USF’s Centre Gallery is a piano, but not just any piano. It’s one with a story. Entitled “Mint Condition,” the Japanese-art-inspired painted piano is the sixth public piano donated by Tampa Tunes, Kaylee Ayres, programs coordinator for the Center of Student Involvement, said. Tampa Tunes is a nonprofit public piano partnership that is working to install a dozen permanent pianos that can be played by anyone at any time around the Tampa Bay area.

USF’s Global and National Security Institute (GNSI) will host a two-day on-campus conference to discuss peace in the Middle East. GNSI’s fourth Tampa Summit will be held at the Royal Ballroom on the second floor of the Marshall Student Center from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. The conference’s primary goal is to address ongoing security challenges in the Middle East, according to the event description.

Get ready for a new fitness program in tres, dos, uno or três, dois, um. Regardless of their native language, USF students can now join workout classes hosted in Spanish or Portuguese through Fuerza Fit, a new fitness program at the Recreation and Wellness Center (REC). Ana Sayuri, a Brazilian sophomore integrated public relations and advertising major, said the program will give international students a larger sense of community at USF.

When USF opens its new on-campus stadium in 2027, students can look forward to their own exclusive section on game day. New renderings released on Wednesday showcase a view of what’s to come inside the new stadium. The stadium will feature a student-only section on its west side with room to accommodate more than 8,000 students. The Bulls’ current home field, Raymond James, holds a capacity of 8,700 for students.

USF professors are concerned over academic freedom as the state orders university courses to be reviewed for antisemitism. Ray Rodrigues, the State University System chancellor, tasked university presidents to create committees to check curriculum for anti-Israel bias in August. The order came after a Florida International University exam question was deemed antisemitic, Rodrigues said in an interview with the Miami Herald.
