Faculty Senate Vice President Scott Perry said he can’t “get a hold of” USF President Rhea Law to learn her stance on the rumored Sarasota-Manatee and New College of Florida merger. “I’ve always found Rhea Law to make the right statement at the right time, but she’s not being available to talk,” Perry said. “I’m not sure that anybody can really find out what she’s thinking.”Perry said he has a “gorgeous” relationship with Law and has tried to reach her — but heard nothing back.

USF’s spring music festival, Bullstock, was cut short during the headlining set by indie rock band Grouplove on Friday night. Rain fell sporadically during the band’s performance, but the festival was called off when it started raining consistently — an hour before the originally scheduled 11:15 p.m. end time. This was met with the audience booing and students rushing out of the event to escape the rain and cold combo.

USF is deleting some of the university’s webpages, news articles, PDF documents and internal audits with content on diversity, equity and inclusion. USF spokesperson Althea Johnson said the university is “reviewing and updating” its websites “to comply” with “all” state and federal guidance, policies and laws.

Four Tampa campus Student Government (SG) gubernatorial tickets shared their ideas on Wednesday’s debate. They highlighted how they would help fund student organizations and advocate for the student body. Four tickets are running in the Tampa campus gubernatorial election:Emma Goodwin, a biomedical sciences major, is running for governor alongside Ethan Walsh, an industrial engineering major, as prospective lieutenant governor.

USF President Rhea Law’s resignation announcement sparked mixed reactions among the USF community. Law sent out a universitywide email on Monday saying she will step down from her role after a “national search” for a new leader is run. “The time is right for the next president to lead a new chapter of our university,” Law said in the email. Some are thinking ahead about what qualities USF’s next president should have, while others are reflecting on Law’s impact on the university.
