The monthslong fight over Colorado’s education budget is inching closer to the finish line. Although districts could end up receiving less money than they were promised by lawmakers last year, many educators are breathing a sigh of relief over the new finance formula. Colorado lawmakers approved the School Finance Act on Wednesday with a vote of 57-8, sending the state’s new school funding formula to Gov. Jared Polis’ desk as it waits to be signed into law.

A decades-old law requiring immigrants to register with the U.S. federal government is suddenly getting stricter enforcement, and Coloradans have questions about who it impacts and what it means for their travel. The new Alien Registration Requirement, which originated with the Alien Registration Act of 1940 during World War II, went into effect on April 11 and requires undocumented immigrants to register their personal information and fingerprints with the Department of Homeland Security.

I almost turned down the job I have now because I couldn't find a place to live in Garfield County. When it was ranked the worst county in the U.S. for homebuyers, I had to find out why. https://t.co/iKhthR58TQ

RT @alex_brizee: and they say print is dead.

Thinking about how @CassEBallard and I spent a random Friday in October walking around downtown Glenwood with a camera asking people if they'd seen two goats on the loose, because that's considered news here. I had never been happier.
