    Hattie Thomas Whitehead's groundbreaking theatrical production "Linnentown: The Musical" is scheduled for a return to the Classic Center Theatre stage this fall. Based on Whitehead's memoir and childhood experiences growing up in the Athens community displaced by urban renewal in the 1960s, "Linnentown" will be performed at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 and Saturday, Sept. 13, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14. Whitehead also wrote the play, which premiered in April 2024.
