    PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A Dekalb County woman faces felony charges in connection with a deadly collision last month that left another woman dead. Savanna Shriber, 27, was charged last month with aggravated DUI in connection with a March 19 incident that killed Deana Viano. The aggravated DUI charge alleges that Shriber was behind the wheel and under the influence at the time when her vehicle struck the 66-year-old Viano and was the “proximate cause” of her death.

    DUNLAP, Ill. (WMBD) — With a turn of a ceremonial shovel, a new $8.5 million athletic training facility for Dunlap students and the community got underway. When it’s completed this fall, the 42,500-square-foot indoor training facility, dubbed the Dunlap Training Center, will feature a 165-meter track, three basketball courts, a golf simulator, training rooms, an area for long jump and pole vault, and more.

(WMBD) — Three appellate judges said no this week to a request to do more forensic testing in connection with a 1991 homicide that has sent one man to prison for the rest of his life. Jamie Snow had hoped to convince the judges from the 4th District Appellate Court that a McLean County judge got it wrong last year in denying more testing. That didn’t happen.

    PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency said water that came from one of the county’s landfills and spilled into creeks presented no risk or harm to residents. Last week, the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office investigated the release of thousands of gallons of runoff from the landfill, which is located off West Southport Road.
