PEORIA, Ill (WMBD) — A man is dead after an early morning shooting Friday morning, the Peoria County Coroner said. Coroner Jamie Harwood said a man was found in a car on MacArthur Highway just before 3 a.m. Friday. The car had crashed into a tree between West Johnson Street and West McBean Street. That’s near the RiverWest complex and MLK Park. The coroner said the man had been shot. A WMBD reporter reached out to a spokeswoman from the Peoria Police Department, who has not yet responded.

PEKIN, Ill. (WMBD) — Debby Dant is dedicated to say the least, involved in multiple organizations, but her time giving back stems from her husband. He’s a four-year Vietnam Veteran who made her realize the importance of fighting for our country. “The veterans gave a lot to us, whether they only served a short time, whether they served four to six years, or were lifers. They all gave a portion of their lives to serve the country,” said Dant.
