A post mortem has been carried out and will reveal to her family the cause of her deathTHE heartbroken family of a 13-year-old girl who died in a crash while competing in an autograss racing event are preparing to bring her body home. The post mortem examination by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster on Lauren O’Brien was completed today and she was taken from the hospital by undertakers, who will return her home to her family.

THE family of a 13-year-old girl who died in an auto grass racing event in Cork have issued a heartbreaking thank you to emergency services. Lauren O’Brien of Knockane, Tarelton was driving a hatchback car in a junior competition at a private car racing track in Castletown Kennigh on Sunday afternoon. The teenager's vehicle went out of control and crashed into a barrier at 3.30pm on Sunday.

TEEN motorsport crash victim Lauren O’Brien’s “vivacious spirit and the ever-present twinkle in her eye will be fondly remembered forever”, her school said today. Tributes have been paid to the 13-year-old, who died while competing in a Cork Autograss Racing Club event on Sunday. Her vehicle crashed at a private race track in Castletown-Kinneigh, around 20km from Bandon in west Cork, at around 3.30pm.

TRIBUTES have been paid to the 13-year-old girl who died in a crash while competing in an auto grass racing event in Cork yesterday afternoon. The popular school girl has been named locally as Lauren O’Brien of Knockane, Terelton. She was driving a hatchback car in a competition at a private car racing track in Castletown Kennigh near Enniskean, in West Cork when the vehicle went out of control and crashed into a barrier.
