The Ellensburg City Council OK'd extending the city's low-income discount program eligibility threshold to those at or below 40% Area Median Income at its meeting Monday. In 2019, the city attempted to simplify and standardize its utility discount program across services such as electricity, water and sewer. The goal was to make the program easier for residents to understand and more consistent in how eligibility was determined, according to the ordinance.

Big Picture Learning, Ellensburg School District's alternative track for high schoolers, celebrated its eight graduates with a pizza dinner and a small ceremony at the Kittitas Valley Event Center on Wednesday evening.
