The department and the school reached a 19-page settlement in December to "prevent and address harassment and create a healthier and supportive environment for student learning and development," U.S. Attorney Vanessa Waldref said.

By ANNA ROSE staff writer Auburn paddleboarders close to hypothermia were rescued on the Columbia River by the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol Sunday evening after getting stranded without paddles in windy conditions. The sheriff's office got the call around 4 p.m. Sunday, April 27 from someone on a paddleboard in the river, Inspector Chris Whitsett told the Daily Record.

At its Monday meeting, the Ellensburg City Council voted unanimously to increase rates and fees for programs at the Kittitas Valley Memorial Pool and Fitness Center, park rental fees and athletic field use.
