The bow of a sunken ship poked out of the water of Shipyard Creek. At high tide on May 27, all that could be seen was a sliver of the oxidized vessel, backdropped by the S.C. Ports Authority's Hugh Leatherman Terminal. The ship sunk in 1947 and is one of the oldest pieces of marine debris in Charleston's waters. It's joined by several others in the creek off the Wando River, some completely overtaken by the tributary, that can be removed by anyone willing to take on the job.
