JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – ASAP Towing and Storage President Vince Serrano, who was the subject of a long-term I-TEAM investigation, is expected to plead not guilty Wednesday to felony counts of grand theft and organized fraud. An arrest warrant for Serrano shows investigators believe he defrauded Floridians of nearly $194,000 by underreporting the sales prices of unclaimed vehicles while overinflating ASAP’s costs to tow, store, and sell them.

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – An early 2025 trial date is looming for a former Georgia district attorney charged with interfering with the police investigation into the killing of Ahmaud Arbery. Jury selection in the criminal misconduct trial of Jackie Johnson is scheduled to begin Jan. 21 in Glynn County. The final pretrial hearing for the case is Wednesday in front of Senior Judge John R. Turner. Johnson has pleaded not guilty and denied wrongdoing.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Black Jacksonville couple filed a lawsuit against Walmart on Wednesday after they said they were “profiled,” “wrongly imprisoned,” and “humiliated” when they were accused of stealing children’s clothing at a Northside store in October. Attorneys for the couple, which include Jacksonville Councilman Rory Diamond, claimed the couple is not alone and that Walmart repeatedly, systemically, and disproportionately discriminates against Black customers.
